A Small Favor Walkthrough

Complete A Small Favor in Low-Budget Repairs, dismantle furniture that will not fit, open the basement door with its clue and collect the Oil Lamp.

DIRECT ANSWER

The short version

Use the screwdriver to dismantle oversized furniture instead of forcing it through the exit. In the basement, inspect the clue under the doormat; community sources independently support 4927 for the second storage door. The Oil Lamp is on a box beside the crates inside.

Safe job order

  1. Create a manual save before moving large furniture.
  2. Read every Work Plans group and finish one room at a time.
  3. Dismantle furniture that cannot clear the exit.
  4. Inspect the basement doormat before using a code.
  5. Collect the Oil Lamp before handing in the job.

Large furniture will not fit

This is usually a tool step, not proof that the exit is broken. Equip the screwdriver, target the furniture's dismantle points and pack the parts before carrying them out. Version 1.0.15 also fixed a separate problem with carrying heavy objects through exit doors.

Spoiler: second basement door

The clue is under the doormat. Multiple community sources support 4927; an isolated checklist typo shows 1927, so 4927 is the better-supported answer but remains community evidence.

Oil Lamp collectible

After opening the locked basement storage unit, look on top of a box beside the stacked crates. Pick up the Oil Lamp and verify that it stores before leaving.

If a doorway or objective is still blocked

  1. Confirm Steam installed 1.0.15.
  2. Check for one remaining dismantle or placement point.
  3. Reload the separate job save once.
  4. Keep the failed state if the same prompt remains missing.
  5. Report the job, object and screenshot in Bug Reports.
