Last Locked Door Guide

Solve the last locked door at home using the gnome clue, understand the 9217 versus 9271 conflict and recover safely if the interaction disappears.

DIRECT ANSWER

The short version

For the second home door, follow the direction indicated by the four garden gnomes. The main community guide records 9217, while a comment reports 9271; use the clue order in your own save instead of assuming one universal sequence. Missing interaction or a closed trophy room is a separately reported post-launch bug.

Do not mix up the two home doors

The earlier home door uses 1974 from the year on a windowsill photograph. The last locked door is the separate four-gnome puzzle.

  • First home door — photograph year
  • Last home door — four garden gnomes

Read the four-gnome clue

  1. Find all four gnomes.
  2. Note the digit associated with each one.
  3. Follow the direction each gnome points.
  4. Write the order before opening the keypad.
  5. Clear the keypad fully before one clean attempt.

Spoiler: reported gnome-code orders

Show spoiler

The detailed guide records 9217. A community comment reports 9271, so the conflict appears to be digit order rather than a different puzzle. Reconstruct the pointing order shown in your save if the first sequence fails.

  • Primary community answer — 9217
  • Conflicting community report — 9271

Door has no interaction or trophy room closes

Players have separately reported that the last door or trophy-room interaction can become unavailable. Version 1.0.15 fixed broad object-interaction blockers, but the changelog does not name this exact door, so it remains community-reported until reproduced or officially addressed.

Safe recovery sequence

  1. Confirm version 1.0.15 is installed.
  2. Do not overwrite the last save from before the door state changed.
  3. Reload that older manual or autosave once.
  4. Revisit the gnomes before approaching the keypad.
  5. If the prompt is still absent, preserve both saves and report the door, trophy-room state and screenshot.

Where this answer comes from

  1. Official August 18 changelog for version 1.0.15, including interaction, mounting, tile, heavy-object and localization fixes.
  2. Community guide explaining the four-gnome clue; its comments also document a conflicting digit order.
  3. Player report that the last locked door could not be opened despite following the clue.
  4. Post-launch report of the final room or trophy-room interaction becoming unavailable.
  5. Current player bug reports used to identify reproducible symptoms after 1.0.15, not to declare universal bugs.
