Low-Budget Repairs Update 4 Patch Notes
What Low-Budget Repairs Update 4 changed on August 27: safer saves, steadier objectives, hanging-object controls, mission fixes and post-patch reports.
The short version
Update 4 shipped on August 27, 2026. It improves saves, completed-objective persistence and hanging-object placement, reworks two missions, and fixes apartment-entry crashes, several progression blockers, collectible-cabinet loss, tile-cutting falls and other defects. The announcement gives no numeric version, so this guide calls it Update 4.

The three system-level changes
- Hanging objects on walls and ceilings were reworked for more control and fewer accidental clipping cases.
- Save improvements now include painted walls and assembled objects such as a sculpture.
- The developer says many cases where completed objectives became unchecked again were eliminated.
Missions and progression
- ‘It's getting hot there’ and ‘Model citizen’ were slightly reworked.
- Progression fixes name One More Time, Broken balcony, Door to a better future and the First job tutorial.
- The patch also fixes Zbyszek's position in Broken balcony and the wrong sofa model while assembling the home sofa.
Objects, collectibles and the world
- The wall above the garage door can be painted.
- Switches should no longer duplicate in the trunk.
- Collectibles should no longer disappear completely from the Collectible Cabinet.
- Store-catalog objects can be assembled with the screwdriver.
- Home glass, tile cutting and protection from falling under the map received fixes.
Technical and presentation work
- Fixed a crash while entering the apartment.
- Added sounds, optimization and visual fixes.
- Fixed blurry textures on high settings, incorrect magazine information and localization issues.
What players still report after Update 4
These are community reports, not reversals of the official fix list. Later replies still describe shader compilation stalls and final-door states where the door opens but Zbyszek remains inactive. A separate August 28 report describes duplicated electrical switches after the patch that officially fixed a trunk-duplication case.
If the same symptom remains
- Restart Steam and let the current update finish.
- Keep the last known-good manual save; do not overwrite it.
- Retry once from a save made before the affected objective or interaction.
- Record the mission, object, visible objective state and exact time.
- Attach the preserved save and Player.log to a Steam Bug Reports post.
